We joined together as a co-operative in response to the credit crisis. It has become increasingly clear that the world economic system is broken – jobs, public services, pensions and investments are proving to be insecure.
We aim to stand together and support each other in our work, starting to produce the things that we rely upon and beginning to look anew at the way we interact economically, while always having consideration for the wider community and the environment.
Members of the co-operative pay a share of profits from work generated through the network back to the co-operative. These funds are then spent progressing the aims of the co-operative.
We aim to investigate alternative economics and are looking at alternative currencies and other ways of trading our skills and products. We also want to encourage others to join or create co-operatives.
We all spend a large part of our lives working and we think that work should be about more than just earning money.
